Simon Levin

Simon Levin is a studio potter living in central Wisconsin who makes pots with strict adherence to functionality and beauty. His wood fired forms evoke strong ties to something celestial, something universal, something far beyond us and yet all his forms create strong ties to direct human interaction. His pots are beautiful things intended to be handled, something difficult for one to achieve in many mediums beyond clay.
Beyond creation in clay, Simon has extensive knowledge of wood fire properties and kiln building. He is sought nationally and internationally for his expertise in these areas.
Simon also thoroughly enjoys puns and just generally toying with the English language. You can find many articles penned by this scribe in Ceramics Monthly, Studio Potter, Clay Times, and The Log Book. He is a regular contributor to the blog, Sawdust & Dirt, with his column, Simon Says.
